Hania’s figurative work is a loose and playful response to the body and the material, creating pitted and fissured surfaces to hold the alchemical processes of the glaze.

    Inspiration and Techniques

    Hania Stella-Sawicka originally studied Sculpture at the Royal College of Art and has since translated an interest in form and function, into ceramic objects. Her studio process is spontaneous in nature, creating small batch functional ware and larger one off decorative pieces. Glazes are kept simple to celebrate the texture of the clay and character of the thrown stoneware form.
