Eventually our followers and customers will start clocking that most of the people we are writing about in ‘Stories with Skills’ have been in our lives for a long time – these are not chance encounters – maybe once upon a time they were but these are now some of our most treasured friends and family and we couldn’t be more proud and grateful for having these people in our life and journey of V+S.
This next entry is probably my (Beatrice) oldest friend. After flinging her arms around our ballet teacher (age 3) my mother very sensibly and intuitively fell in love with the loving and bountiful sprite that is Torty – luckily we too became friends for life.
As chapters of school, playgrounds, universities, heart breaks, pregnancy, breakups, work, bad bosses and even the good bosses played out, we have interwoven in each others lives since time began (well at least our time) Having the honour to have witnessed someone arrive to a destination of deep spirituality and generosity with her learnings is something one must never take for granted. After all the trials and triumphs of the last few years, Torty has landed in her very own Crystal Garden where through Crystal healing practices and reiki she helps mothers and families navigate and understand our many marvellous and mischievous emotions. Her goal is to leave you recharged, rebalanced and renewed, with better tools to meet your own needs at that moment in time.

“This season I am going to treasure spending moments with my newest crystal family member, Nephrite Jade. I love the buzz of Christmas and all the wonderful traditions. This year however I intend to bring in more BALANCE when it all feels a little too much. Taking a few minutes each day holding this gorgeous crystal is there to remind myself of my intention that I am balanced.
With always so much going on over the festive season it is important to remember to pause, and take a step back from the noise. Taking those precious few moments with my Nephrite Jade, to focus on my breath, to be grateful, remove any expectation that I am placing on myself and send love and strength out into the world.
