Everything under the sun
with Molly Oldfield

There is always a sense of excitement and apprehension when a question we don’t know the answer crosses our mind, but what a great feeling when someone knows the answer and more importantly HOW do they know the answer?

There are probably very few questions that Molly Oldfield hasn’t either thought about herself or had to investigate for someone else.

Science, geography, life, flowers, nature, art, bits and bobs you name it. QI Elf, mother of 2 and author, Molly has taken answering questions to a whole new level, in fact a whole new audience: Children.

Her brilliant and incredibly informative podcast – Everything Under The Sun has been going for just under 3 years, aimed at Children between 3-11 years old. I find it incredibly reassuring for both the kids and adults (eek!) that someone is out there un muddling and finding answers for all the rambled and distinctive questions that can come rolling out our children’s curious minds…

Definitely a new bath time listen or when I am off on a walk to forget about all of life’s mounting admin – I will be putting on this brilliant podcast to hear the answers to questions such as  “How do snakes breathe?”; “Are Footballers happy?”; “What noise do giraffes make?”, “Where do babies come from?”(Always fun to listen to grown ups answer that one) and on the other side of inquisitive minds come questions such as “Why do we die?” and “how do people become refugees?”.  Each beautifully answered with sensitivity and kindness.

EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN by Molly Oldfield

In addition, this year Molly’s book – Everything under the Sun is out and a brilliant treat for children and grown ups. Next time you hear the rumble of an unanswerable question from your little ones you will know what to do and who to ask…
