Non-Circular Shaped Vases

£50.00£75.00

Handcrafted vases in muted shades of white and pale grey. The vases are made on a potter’s wheel and then whilst still wet, manipulated to non-circular shapes with bulges, dents and sweeping lines inspired by a Nordic snow covered landscape.  This making process means every vase is unique. It is made with the flowers in mind, but can equally stand alone as a display piece of art. The narrow channel at the top of the vase means a few stems can stand without the use of metal wire or florist’s foam. As the vases are all unique, they may vary from the image and the sizes are a guide.

    Inspiration and Techniques

Tone Von Krogh current collection of contemporary domestic Ceramics is strongly influenced by her impressions and memories of the winter landscapes in Norway. When the snow covers trees, rocks, paths and architecture; any sharp edges become soft and everyday shapes may become unrecognizable. She has tried to bring the same feel to her work with a range of tactile, wavy vases and softly distorted beakers, bowls and bottles. The colour range is reflecting the many tones of snow and ice and winter skies.
