Inspiration and Techniques
Lina Wil started Lina Wil after finishing her Masters in Design Innovation - having worked with research and service design for a while, she craved returning to the beauty of physical making. In my designs, Lina utilises a mixture of traditional techniques and digital prototyping. Many of her pieces are sculpted in CAD programmes, then 3D-printed and cast in precious metals or clay to create shapes that would be impossible to create by purely using analogue techniques. In her work, she draws inspiration from architectural shapes and dynamic dancers movements, creating pieces that are effortless to wear and use. Another founding pillar of Lina Wil is sustainability and she exclusively works with sustainable materials, processes and packaging, constantly considering how she can make pieces that delight and go with the times.
