The Lilla Shoulder Bag in Russian Hatch leather is carefully handcrafted using traditional methods and stitched by hand with strong waxed thread. Designed with a curved flap, hidden magnetic closure, and a fully stitched double strap with solid brass buckle, it is both practical and refined.

The Russian Hatch leather is produced by J&FJ Baker in Devon, recreated from historic hides recovered from the 1786 shipwreck Metta Catharina. Known for its durability, unique hatch pattern, and subtle birch aroma, each piece reflects centuries of tanning expertise. Inside, the bag has a single pocket for essentials. Available in Brown or Black.

Inspiration and Techniques
Melissa works exclusively with full-grain leather, the highest grade that proudly carries the natural markings and imperfections of the animal it once belonged to. She sources her hides from select UK tanneries using sustainable practices, ensuring that only by-products of the meat industry are repurposed into her collections.
Each piece is hand-cut, assembled with traditional tools, and finished with saddle stitching in waxed thread, a meticulous, machine-free method that guarantees strength and longevity. This approach may take more time, but it results in durable, characterful products made to be treasured for years to come.
