Parent & Child Egg Cup Workshop

£55.00

Tuesday 31st March

This parent and child pottery workshop is a hands-on session designed to be shared together, just ahead of the Easter holidays. It’s a chance to slow down, spend time together and make something meaningful by hand.

Working side by side, parents and children will learn simple hand-building techniques while creating their own ceramic egg cups, a playful and functional piece that feels especially fitting for Easter. Guided by Vallari, participants will explore pinching, coiling and slab-building in a relaxed and supportive setting.

The egg cups will be gently dried during the session so they can be decorated with coloured slips on the day. After the workshop, all pieces will be bisque fired and finished with a transparent glaze, then returned to the Vigour and Skills studio for collection.

A calm, creative way to mark the start of Easter, focused on making and enjoying time together around the table.

    Inspiration and Techniques

Vallari’s work captures the shifting narratives of life, using clay as a medium for storytelling. She draws inspiration from her experiences in India and the UK, creating pieces that reflect both cultures.

Her tableware is crafted in stoneware or terracotta, often with handbuilt elements and intricate Sgraffito designs on coloured slip. Vallari also explores the sculptural potential of clay, pushing its boundaries with innovative techniques.

Her process is one of continuous experimentation, always aiming to evoke emotion through simple yet powerful designs.
