Handbuilding Ceramic Egg Trays

This workshop has been postponed

In this creative ceramics workshop (£80), participants will hand-build their own ceramic egg trays, learning foundational clay techniques alongside decorative skills. Once shaped, pieces can be decorated freely or using beautiful Japanese transfers.

This session is ideal for beginners and those with some experience — no prior ceramic knowledge is needed. All materials, tools, and aprons are provided. After the workshop, your piece will be glazed, fired, and ready for collection from the studio at a later date (you’ll be contacted when it’s ready).

    Inspiration and Techniques

Elli Carr, a sculptor with a foundation in drawing and sculpture, earned a Post Graduate Degree at The City and Guilds School of Art. Shifting from figurative clay and bronze casting, Elli returned to clay, focusing on direct engagement and firing. Employing hand-building techniques like coiling and pinching, Elli aims to fuse sculptural aesthetics with functionality, creating pieces that are both beautiful and useful.
