Jason Lock
Jason began working with wood at a young age and pursued a carpenter and joinery apprenticeship in Colchester, Essex, where he first explored woodturning. After completing his apprenticeship with City and Guilds, Jason spent ten years as a carpenter. However, an accident that left him in a wheelchair with a fractured spine led him to seek out woodturning as a form of therapy. Determined to continue his craft, he taught himself to woodturn while seated, finding peace and purpose in the process. Over time, Jason began combining wood and resin, developing a unique technique for pouring resin, creating designs inspired by planets, space, and oceans. This method not only gave him greater creative freedom but also allowed him to work with smaller pieces of wood.
