Karen’s work is still influenced by her passion for gardening, and she now designs baskets that combine traditional and contemporary techniques and incorporate other found or coppiced materials. Growing willow is an important part of Karen’s practice. It helps her to better understand the material and create a sustainable supply whilst minimising the environmental impact of her business. Her current work is focussed on creating functional but intricate baskets that showcase the diversity of willow as a material
