About the piece
Suberin Burl explores the dialogue between natural and constructed forms. The raw cork burl — shaped by nature — is paired with woven thread and leather to create tension, structure and balance within the sculpture.
Care
Leather will naturally age and develop a patina over time.
Keep away from heat, direct sunlight and liquids. Dust with a dry cloth and occasionally polish with a colourless leather conditioner.
Material notes
Jessie works with the high-quality top layer of leather and believes in respecting the material and avoiding waste. Natural markings and small scars may be visible in the leather — these beautiful imperfections are an intentional part of the work.
