Handcrafted Black Locust (Robin) bowl, showcasing beautiful warm colours and swirling grain patterns, with unique features including bark inclusions and stabilised cracks.

Turned from the base near the root of a Black Locust (Robin) tree, this bowl features stabilised cracks in the rim and holes in the bottom. The bowl also includes bark inclusions around the side, adding to its character. It stands 23cm tall, with a 17cm diameter, and weighs 1200g, making it a striking and heavy piece, though not suitable for liquids like soup.

Inspiration and Techniques
With so much waste and redundancy in the world, wherever possible, Glynn uses wood that has already had one life or has become available through a natural occurrence such as a storm or land clearance. No tree lasts forever and when it is time for it to be felled on safety grounds, he is there to gather whatever pieces he can.
