Beautifully understated large bowl, with delicate iron speckles in the clay that show through the glaze, and some lush visible throwing lines reminiscent of the making process. A small green copper dot has also appeared at the bottom.
Stoneware. Gloss white glaze all over.

Inspiration and Techniques
Typically focussed on functional pieces and tableware, Violaine brings her eye for detail into every creation. She is currently experimenting with the magic of raku—an intricate and labour-intensive process where pieces are taken red-hot from the kiln and placed directly into contact with combustible materials.
For Violaine, the resulting surfaces evoke a variety of landscapes: a network of roads or fields seen from above, or even unfamiliar lunar terrains. Each piece emerges with unpredictable markings, unique in character, and guiding the imagination down a different path.
