A matching set with a beautifully understated wave motif within the glaze inside. The smaller bowl has picked up some barely-there pink tones in the kiln.

Stoneware. Flecked, sandy-coloured and unglazed clay outside, gloss tin white glaze inside. Sold as a set.

Inspiration and Techniques
Typically focussed on functional pieces and tableware, Violaine brings her eye for detail into every creation. She is currently experimenting with the magic of raku—an intricate and labour-intensive process where pieces are taken red-hot from the kiln and placed directly into contact with combustible materials.
For Violaine, the resulting surfaces evoke a variety of landscapes: a network of roads or fields seen from above, or even unfamiliar lunar terrains. Each piece emerges with unpredictable markings, unique in character, and guiding the imagination down a different path.
