A collaboration between artists, potters and partners Marion and Scott Stuart. We create works referencing Norfolk using the colours and textures of sea, sky and land in our simple functional ware. Our name is derived from when areas of Norfolk were divided in Anglo-Saxon times into hundreds, and each was named, ours was Humbleyard.   HUMBLEYARD is a collaboration between Marion and Scott Stuart. Both fine artists and partners, they have worked together on a Norfolk inspired set of functional wares. Referencing the Norfolk natural landscape surrounding them they make with simplicity and elegance alluding to Japanese aesthetics such as wabi-sabi. From simple drinking cups and other irregular, tactile forms and decoration. Pieces are slab constructed and hand thrown with a painterly approach to glazing, encouraging meditation and contemplation.
