Maz and Scott (Humbleyard)

Marion and Scott Stuart are fine artists, potters, and partners who collaborate to create ceramics inspired by the Norfolk landscape. Their work draws on the colours and textures of the sea, sky, and land, expressed through simple, functional forms. With a painterly approach to glazing, they evoke a sense of meditation and contemplation in each piece.

Their collection includes slab-constructed and hand-thrown vessels, from simple drinking cups to irregular, tactile forms that carry echoes of Japanese aesthetics such as wabi-sabi. The name of their collaboration, Humbleyard, comes from the Anglo-Saxon division of Norfolk into hundreds—one of which was named after the area where they now live and work.
